Apple Mail

For people who wish to use the built in mail client on their phone should make sure that they have "IMAP" enabled on their accounts. You can check this from any computer/web browser. When logged in, navigate to "Settings" which is the grey gear icon in the upper left hand corner. Under "Forwarding and POP/IMAP", and click "Enable IMAP". From there you can start setting up your email client on your phone. The Directions in the Gmail Help article should get you set up.

Gmail Client

For users who don't wish to use the built in mail client, the Gmail app is an easy and convenient way to get your URI mail on your phone. Simply download it from the App Store and type in your credentials.

  • Note: when signing in from the Gmail client be sure to use your entire email address "".

Note: These instructions are for Android 2.1 and 2.2 (Eclair and Froyo, respectively),
