Change in Outgoing Email Server

Effective October 6, 2015, our outgoing email server,, will no longer be used to dispatch outgoing email from URI Google Apps accounts or any other email accounts owned by members of the campus community. That server will be used only for URI’s internal servers, copiers, fax machines, projectors, etc.

To ensure that email from your URI Google Apps account continues to be sent out, the email software on your desktops, laptops, phones, tablets, etc. must point to Google’s outgoing email server, Any device that does not point to will not be able to send email. Go to the URI Google page and select Set Up Your Desktop Client for Google Apps for instructions on setting up your outgoing server.

If you have Verizon, Cox, personal Gmail or other email accounts, you must point your email software to the outgoing mail server appropriate for your service.
